FIREFIGHTERS who have undertaken the massive operation to tackle a fire at a Chirk factory have finally left the site after five days.
Crews from North Wales Fire & Rescue have been at the scene since the blaze erupted at the Kronospan factory in Chirk in the early hours of Monday.
But on Friday morning the fire service said that the fire was in the recovery stage and firefighters were not longer at the scene.
They tweeted: "The incident at #Kronospan, #Chirk is now in the recovery phase.
"Crews from NWFRS are no longer in attendance but staff on site are continuing with the process of damping down the affected wood pile. We will continue to monitor the situation."
