SHROPSHIRE Council has launched a consultation into a change of speed limit on a section of the A41 near Whitchurch.
The consultation is for the small stretch of road known as the Sandford Bends, two relatively sharp corners through the hamlet of Sandford.
It is proposed to create an enforceable speed limit, combined with traffic engineering measures, along this stretch of road.
The consultation says these measures will reduce vehicle speeds which will improve road safety along these lengths of roads by decreasing the risk of road accidents and casualties.
It is proposed that a 40mph speed limit should be imposed from Sandford Industrial Estate, to a point to the south of the hamlet.
Full details of these proposals are in the deposited documents which can be viewed during usual office opening hours at The Shirehall in Shrewsbury, or at Whitchurch Library.
Objections, expressions of support or other comments about the proposals can be sent via e-mail to traffic.engineering@shropshire.gov.uk by 5 February 2020.
For more information call 0345 678 9006 but for legal reasons, objections must be made in writing or by e-mail as objections cannot be accepted over the phone.
