WHITCHURCH Town Council will look at co-opting a new member at this month's full council meeting.

Councillors will meet in the Edward German Room of Whitchurch Civic Centre on Thursday, January 16om 7.15pm.

The meeting will start with announcements from the mayor, before confirming the minutes from December's meeting.

Councillors will then open the floor to members of the public to make representations, ask questions and give evidence in respect of business being transacted at the meeting and about any other matter for which the council has a responsibility.

West Mercia Police are also invited to make a representation, either in person or via a written update.

The council will then receive short presentations from those who have applied to be considered for the vacant volunteer councillor position as well as hearing a verbal update from members of Shropshire Council.

Councillors will then receive the monthly balance sheet, before hearing reports from recent committee meetings, including; the Heritage Committee held on November 12, the Personnel Committee held on November 15, and the Finance Committee held on December 12.

A decision will then be made to co-op a town councillor for the south ward vacancy.

The meeting will then receive updates from councillors on outside bodies before hearing a question from Councillor Andy Hall.

Cllr Hall says he would like to know why mayor Bev Duffy has not dealt with his recent complaint and has asked her to explain the reasons to the full council.

Following on from this, the council will receive a recommendation from the Finance Committee to approve the final tax precept requirement for Shropshire Council for 2020/2021.

Councillors will then receive an update on progress of the public consultation for Centre North East, before finally moving into confidential business.
