A SHROPSHIRE-based estate agents has teamed up with a firm specialising in removing hard to recycle waste.

Barbers Estate and Letting Agents, who have an office in Whitchurch have started working with TerraCycle, a recycling company that has become a global leader in recycling items that are typically sent to landfill, including crisp packets..

As part of the partnership, the estate agents' offices, including; Market Drayton, Newport and Telford, are all acting as collection points for The Crisp Packet Recycling Scheme.

Once collected, used crisp packets are separated by plastic type, cleaned, and extruded into plastic pellets to make new recycled products.

To date, more than 202 million people are collecting in 21 countries and the scheme has helped collect billions of pieces of waste, raising more than 44 million dollars for charities around the world.

Barbers’ lettings manager, Richard Heath, said; “We’re delighted to be involved with TerraCycle.

"Not only does The Crisp Packet Recycling Scheme help promote recycling in Shropshire, the proceeds all go to charitable causes, we are splitting any money raised between Severn Hospice and Newport Scout Group.”

Crisp packets are being collected at in Barbers’ offices and by Newport Scout Group, who are also working with TerraCycle.
