Malpas-based Cheshire Wildlife Trust is offering people the opportunity to train to be a volunteer and help them carry out the vital work to maintain the countryside in the area.

The Trust, which operates out of Bickley Hall Farm, outside Malpas, is holding a volunteers induction day on Tuesday, January 14 from 1.30pm until 4pm.

A spokesman for the Trust said: "Join us for our volunteering induction day, this is our chance to share everything with you, that will help you along your way as a Cheshire Wildlife Trust volunteer."

Anyone wishing to take part in the event will get a chance to learn more about the work Cheshire Wildlife Trust carries out, and find out where you will be providing a helping hand.

If interested, you are encouraged to head along, ask questions and meet your fellow volunteers.

The day is free and you can book a place by calling 01948 820728 or by emailing Becky Stallard at bstallard@cheshirewt.org.uk

There are no dogs permitted on the day but you can park at Bickley Hall Farm and there are disabled toilet facilities.

At the end of the month, Bickley Hall Farm will host another popular event with a 'make your own pallet furniture' day on Saturday, January 25.

A spokesman for Cheshire Wildlife Trust said: "Come along to our one day pallet furniture workshop and create a truly unique and sustainable piece of furniture.

"All tools, materials, training and lunch provided, just bring along your creativity.

If you have any ideas about what you would like to make and would like to discuss prior to the day please contact Sam on SSalisbury@cheshirewt.org.uk"

The cost is £75 for adult non-members or £50 for adult members – call 09148 202728 or email bookings@cheshirewt.org.uk for more details.
