Police officers will be out in force in Rhyl in the run up to Christmas after a number of robberies.

A spate of robberies have taken place in the town over the past few weeks.

It has prompted action from North Wales Police who have vowed to increase their police presence.

Denbighshire Chief Inspector Andrew Williams said: "The aim of our approach is to be visible in the area during the relevant times and people should expect to be engaged by officers in a proportionate and appropriate manner.

"Again I would urge the public to come forward with any information in relation to the robberies that have occurred.”

“I should also repeat that people should not place themselves in harm’s way and a 999 call to the police, should they witness anything that concerns them, is the most effective and safe way of addressing things.”
