THE headteacher of Tilston Parochial Primary School is celebrating after achieving a top ranking in the recent Key Stage 2 SATS results.
The school has been rated as the second highest performing state primary school in Cheshire West and Chester, according to Government figures.
The results on the Gov.uk website says that the school ranks second overall performance at end of Key Stage 2 in 2018.
Headteacher Kelsey Mort says to be ranked second in the table is testament to the hard work of everyone associated with the school.
“Our exceptional KS2 SATS results are down to the incredible team we have at Tilston – staff, governors, parents and children,” said Mrs Mort.
“The results reflect the hard work and excellent attitude to learning our children have and how their learning is built on each year.
“In addition to the exceptional academic progress, I am proud of all of our children and what they contribute to making our school such a special place.
“Our vision statement is ‘Bringing out the Best in Everyone’, and to see how much we have achieved together is an outstanding achievement.”
Earlier this year staff at the school were recognised for for their efforts by the Department of Education.
The letter, dated at the start of February, congratulated Mrs Mort, her staff and her pupils on Key Stage 2 results achieved last summer, putting them in the top one per cent of the country.
