BANGOR-on-Dee Racecourse will be getting festive at their next meeting, all in the name of charity.

The Christmas Meeting, to be held on Friday, December 13 is the final meeting of the year at the racecourse and the day will be in support of Save the Children and National Christmas Jumper Day. To celebrate this festive spirit, the racecourse will be relaxing the dress code, encouraging racegoers to join the Bangor team and sport a Christmas jumper.

Racegoers can donate to Save the Children on the day by scanning a QR code within their racecard, going online and visiting the team’s JustGiving page or, alternately, donating to the bucket collection on the day.

A spokesman for Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse said: "By getting together for a cracking day in our festive knits and donating, we'll be making the future brighter for children all around the world. "Every pound we raise will give children in the UK and around the globe the chance to grow up healthy and happy, so they can become who they want to be.

"Just £2 could pay for antibiotics for eight children suffering from pneumonia, one of the biggest killers of children, while £5 could provide a winter jacket for a child in Syria."
