A CARAVAN park near Whitchurch has been named the winner of a national competition.
Brunette Cottage Caravan Park, based in Ty Broughton, has won the National Caravan and Motorhome Club Certified Location of the Year for 2019.
Paul and Helen Clarke, owners of the caravan park, say they are delighted to be winners for 2019, after coming short a few years ago.
By winning the award the pair were invited down to London to enjoy an awards lunch before travelling to the Houses of Parliament to receive the award itself.
"There are over 2,200 certified location caravan sites across the country, which are nominated for the award by club members," said Paul.
"We had an amazing day in London thanks to the Caravan and Motorhome Club staff and especially the certified location team.
"After lunch at the Stafford Hotel St James’s Place we were then taken to the House of Commons for the award ceremony.
"We started the certified location eight years ago on the field adjacent to our home, we thought it would be nice to share our tranquil location with other caravan and motorhome users.
"After coming third five years ago we are absolutely delighted to win first place this year and we would like to thank everyone who voted for us."
