FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a fire at a farm in Audlem on Friday night.

Two fire engines, one from Audlem and one from Nantwich, were sent to the blaze in Bagley Lane.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) received the call at 9.20pm to reports of a fire at a domestic property on a farm.

A spokesman for CFRS said: "On arrival crews discovered that the fire involved a beam above a fireplace.

"Two firefighters each wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

"Once the fire was out firefighters exposed areas around the beam and used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.

"They also cleared smoke from the property with a large fan."

Firefighters were in attendance for nearly three hours.
