ST. JOHN’S Methodist Church in Whitchurch will be holding a Christmas tree festival from Friday, November 29 to Monday, December 2 to coincide with the lights switch-on weekend.

The opening ceremony will be at 2.30pm on Friday and the Church will be open to visitors from 2pm until 5.30pm and from 7.30pm until 9pm, from 10am to 5.30pm on Saturday, from 2pm until 5pm on Sunday and from 10am to 4pm on Monday.

In addition to the decorated trees, there will be a prayer tree, on which you can attach a Christmas message.

On Friday evening there will be carols among the trees with complimentary mince pies and coffee.

On Saturday and Monday, over lunchtime, soup and a roll will be available and mid-afternoon, Saturday, there will be a children’s entertainment.

Light refreshments will always be available along with a glass of (non-alcoholic) mulled wine in the afternoons.

Entrance is free but donations gratefully received. Come and enjoy a time of peace and tranquillity among beautiful surroundings.
