PLANS for Centre North East are set to be discussed at this month’s Whitchurch Town Council meeting.

The meeting will be held tomorrow (Thursday) in the Edward German room, commencing at 7.15pm and will begin with questions from the public and an update from the police.

Following this councillors will discuss the financial accounts for the month, before hearing the minutes from recent committees; including the Personnel Committee, the Parks and Public Realm Committee and the Heritage Committee.

The council will then hear reports from councillors on outside bodies, before hearing a motion from Councillor Andy Hall.

He is proposing that Whitchurch Town Council allocate £15,000 for next year’s budget to deliver youth work in Whitchurch for 2020 to 2021.

Meanwhile, Cllr Tony Neville proposes that the town clerk’s expenditure, in the approved budget, in conjunction with the chairman of the council or chairman of the appropriate committee, is increased from £1,000 to £2,000.

Councillors will then receive a written report from the town clerk on Centre North East before considering a public meeting.

Finally, the council will receive a report and quotations for stage work and agree a way forward, as well as a recommendation to replace the cupola on the heritage centre.
