WEST Mercia Police is appealing for information following a string of burglaries in Wem.

Between the hours of 4pm on Saturday, November 2 and 8am on Monday, November 4 a large quantity of meat was stolen from a freezer from a business premises in High Street.

In this incident the offender or offenders forced entry through a smashed window. Incident number 0087s 041119.

Meanwhile, overnight between Sunday, November 3 and Monday, November 4 a burglary occurred at a licensed premises in New Street.

A gambling machine was later found nearby in an alley off Summerfield Road with its cash box removed. Incident number 0087s 041119.

On the same night a hotel in Soulton Road was also burgled, it is thought shortly after midnight.

A glass door was damaged and a credit card was among items taken and was used unsuccessfully later in Burton on Trent. Incident number 0124s 041119.

It is not known if these three incidents are connected but anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101.
