THE Whitchurch Young Farmers have been doing their bit for charity by hosting a fireworks display and bonfire.

On Friday, November 1, the club held their annual bonfire and fireworks night just outside Calverhall. Despite the miserable weather, more than 200 people attended, including locals, fellow young farmers and friends.

The night was filled with an impressive firework display, bonfire, a bar, barbecue and fundraising games.

The club raised £1,000 for their chosen charities; Midlands Air Ambulance, Shropshire Rural Support and the club itself.

A spokesman for the club said they thank the Leighton family for hosting the evening and everyone who attended to make the event successful.

Meanwhile club members Liam Rooney, Josh and Jack Swain, Will and Joe Shore and Chloe Astin were also helping out the community at the Alderford Lake Bonfire on Saturday, November 2, towing stuck cars off the car park with their tractors.
