CHOLMONDELEY Castle celebrated the end of the season by hosting a autumn festival and conker tournament.
The event, held on Sunday, October 27 saw visitors travel to the castle to enjoy the autumnal surroundings and do battle with their conkers.
It wasn't just friendly competition though, with trophies up for grabs for the winners, including the prestigious Conker Cup and Pumpkin Plaque.
Visitors on the day were asked to bring their toughest conker to compete for the prize, and to add to the autumn theme there was free entry for anyone who brought along a carved pumpkin.
The day's excitement means also the end for the castle's open season, and it will now close for the winter while works take place, before reopening in 2020.
