THE heat was on in week seven of Strictly Come Dancing, as AJ Pritchard and Saffron Barker danced the Salsa.
The pair looked the part dressed in typical glitzy Strictly attire as they danced around the basketball-themed dance floor to Demi Lovato and Jax Jones’ upbeat song, Instruction – but with more of a Cuban twist.
And after their performance, the duo managed to get a standing ovation from the audience, with presenter Tess Daly saying “you shook the house”.
Shirley Ballas kicked off the judge’s comments, with slightly more critical comments than usual, an approach that was followed by the other judges.
The dance lacked ‘fluidity for a salsa’, according to Craig Revel-Horwood.
However, he added: “It did have some dynamic moments.”
Bruno Tonioli did commend the pair for their determination in the fast-paced performance, telling them they were “two dynamos with boundless energy”.
Motsi Mabuse added: “You risked it. The beginning was spot on.
“You always give 110 per cent but sometimes 100 per cent is enough.
“Clean it up. Keep your energy and just go for it.”
The pair managed to get 27 points for their salsa, leaving them third from the bottom of the leaderboard.
But despite a score more reminiscent of earlier days in the competition, the pair seemed happy with their dance and are through to week eight.
