THE name of a new retirement home under construction in Malpas has been revealed by the developers.
The new retirement home, based in Old Hall Street, has been named The Cedars in reference to the historic building that was formerly located there.
Developers McCarthy and Stone, say the development will comprise a selection of one and two-bedroom apartments.
The apartments will be released for sale in spring 2020 with the first homeowners taking occupation in autumn 2020.
Fiona Brooks, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy and Stone North West, said: “At McCarthy and Stone we appreciate that our responsibility is not only to increase the provision of high quality, purpose-built age-exclusive properties, but also to create a positive legacy in the communities in which we build.
"This is why we have chosen a name that is synonymous with the history of the area.
“We are looking forward to the launch of The Cedars, when apartment specifications and prices will be released.
"It is a very exciting time for our business as interest in the site is high amongst Malpas residents, as well as from those who are looking to downsize to this popular destination from further afield."
