A state-of-the-art new facility in Oswestry has been unveiled.

Aico, which specialises in fire and carbon monoxide detection, opened the doors to its new £7.7 million headquarters off Maesbury Road on Saturday.

The open day was a chance for the public to have a look around at the seven-acre site, which includes office and warehouse space, and boasts a gym, games room and relaxation room for the 65 members of staff, plus landscaped gardens.

It also features the company's Centre of Excellence, which has training, meeting and demonstration space.

Neil Hooper, managing director, said: "After being at our current premises for over 20 years and having undergone two extensions for our Centre of Excellence, we have outgrown our current space.

"We are excited that our new site will not only allow us to grow as a business, but this growth will also bring new job opportunities to the local community of Oswestry."

The new development has been built by Morris Property and is designed to allow Aico to expand its workforce as it continues to grow over the coming years.

Staff are due to move into the base by Monday, November 4.
