A student from The Marches School in Oswestry has won a top award.
Charlotte Crow, a Year 10 student, entered the Shrewsbury Drapers Textile Design contest and did extremely well coming away with a Silver award.
Governor of the school, Vince Hunt, who was in attendance at the competition, said: “I had a chance to have a chat with Charlotte before and after the award.
“I have to say she has done the school and herself much credit.”
The Mayor, Cllr John Price and Mayoress, Cllr Joyce Barrow, also attended the evening which was held at St Mary’s Church, Shrewsbury.
There was an exhibition of entries as well as the presentation.
There were three categories, and both were very pleased that Charlotte won.
Cllr Barrow said: “The theme was flower power, and Charlotte’s beach bag entry was fantastic.
“The mayor thought the standard of entries was fantastic and thought Charlotte a very talented young lady.”
