THE winners of the Wem harvest photograph competition have been revealed.
Judges for the competition were Dave Granger and Mark Lockett and they commented that the standard of the entries this year was very good.
The winning and runner up entries are now on display win Wem Library along with a collection of books on photography.
Winner of the competition was Sandie Smith with her picture of cereal and insects near Sleap Airport. The judges said the photo had a clear uncomplicated composition with excellent soft colour and a well-seen view.
Meanwhile the runner up was Tomas Benbow with his photo of an alpaca fleece ready for harvest.
For his photo, Tomos was congratulated for thinking ‘outside of the box’ and his image was described as eye-catching and full of humour, with the personality of the alpaca neatly captured.
And Grace Newcombe, Julie Woolfenden, Liz Mayer and Shelagh Richardson were all highly commended for their photographs, capturing scenes from close up insects, to dramatic wind farms and traditional harvest scenes.
