A GROUP of fundraisers from a Malpas nursery have completed the Three Peaks Challenge for charity.

Matt and Vicky Hollins, Marc and Sarah Wright, Tim Copping and Chris Brereton from Bradley Barns Nursery scaled Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in July.

To add to the challenge, the quintet also completed the challenge in 24 hours, which involved walking 26 miles, climbing over 11,000 feet and travelling 914 miles.

The staff from Bradley Barns recently handed over a cheque to the Wingate Centre from money raised on the Three Peaks Challenge.

Originally aiming to raise £1,000, the climb has actually raised a total of £2,123.

Tim Copping said that while the challenge was tough, it was worth it for such a worthy cause.

“The hardest element of the event was the sleep deprivation in trying to complete the challenge within the 24 hour timeframe," said Tim

"Having visited the Wingate Centre previous to the event though we knew how much the charity needed the money to be able to continue and this was a great motivating factor.

"The team spirit also shone through and we all helped each other to push through to the end.

"We would especially like to thank those parents, friends, family and the Malpas Freemasons all of whom very generously donated to this worthwhile charity.

"The cause is very close to the nursery as the children regularly use the facilities at the Wingate Centre on a Monday morning and everyone involved was thrilled to be able to make a donation."
