Police searching for a missing Oswestry woman have released CCTV of the last confirmed sighting of her.

Maria Duncan, 51, from Morda left her home in Trefonen Road around 3pm on Friday and walked on to Nant Lane.

Extensive enquiries have been carried out and the last confirmed sighting police have of Maria is on CCTV in Nant Lane at 3.12pm on Friday.

CCTV pictures show her with her dog, a black Labrador called Charlie.

Maria is described as 5ft 7 inches tall, medium build with wavy light brown hair, wearing light blue jeans, white Nike trainers with pink around the sole and a blue waterproof jacket over a bright pink t-shirt.

Searches have continued over the weekend and police and her family are becoming increasingly concerned.

Shropshire Detective Chief Inspector Mike Nally said: “Maria has now been missing with her dog since Friday afternoon which is out of character for her and causes us and her family considerable concern.

“Searches have taken place throughout the weekend to help find Maria which will continue today and we have officers working with Maria’s family. We’re incredibly grateful for the support from the community and I would continue to urge anyone who has any information that may be able to help us find Maria to get in contact.

“We know that the last confirmed sighting we have of Maria is on CCTV at 3.12pm on Friday in Nant Lane, we know that she left her home around 3pm in Trefonen Road and walked along Trefonen Road towards Nant lane.

"Maria’s normal dog walking route will take her down Nant Lane, through Nant y Caws and then onto the B5069 Morda Road back towards her home.

I would ask anyone who lives along that route and has CCTV footage to let us know as it may prove crucial in our enquiries.

“In the CCTV footage we have we can see that Maria is with her dog Charlie – unfortunately though we don’t know whether or not her dog is still with her, although we hope so.

"But it may be they have become separated and I would also urge anyone who sees a black Labrador in the local area on its own to please let us know as it could be Charlie.”

Anyone with information should contact West Mercia Police on 101.
