ELLESMERE Primary School will be able to fund new tools for their Forest School after a donation from a local supermarket.

The Ellesmere Co-Op – based in Cross Street – has donated £250 to the school as part of its national incentive, the Community Donation Fund.

Groups and schools can apply to their local store for funds, but they have to fit a certain criteria first; such as having ideas for projects which encourage education.

Teacher and PTA representative Tammy Griffiths was delighted with the cheque which was handed over by Amanda Byrne, community member pioneer for the Ellesmere Co-Op branch, and was excited to put the money to good use.

“The school is really grateful for this donation,” she said.

“Thank you very much to the Co-Op for the £250 – it will be going towards new tools and equipment to enhance children’s learning sessions in the Forest School.”
