A group of five potential new recruits turned out for the Oswestry branch of Citizens Advice Shropshire open day last week as part of its search for new volunteers.
The five spent the day with the Oswestry team at its town centre office to find out more about the role of the volunteer.
The day included an outline of the nationally recognised Citizens Advice training, the roles available for volunteers and the benefits of helping to provide an invaluable service to the area.
Citizens Advice session supervisor at Oswestry, Alison Edwards, said that the group had been enthusiastic about the chance to take on a volunteer role.
“It was a very full day and we hope we have given them an insight into this incredibly rewarding role,” she said.
Training supervisor, Cris Willis, said that there were always opportunities for volunteers within Citizens Advice throughout Shropshire in a range of roles.
"People of all levels of experience and backgrounds were welcome."
Further information on the volunteer role is available by contacting Cris Willis at training@shropshirecab.cabnet.org.uk or through the website at www.cabshropshire.org.uk
