THERE was fun to be had last Sunday as residents of Gredington celebrated the first ever Horseman’s Green Fun Day and classic car show.

Owners had ventured out in their much looked after cars to produce a magnificent display of over 50 vehicles, with two car clubs in the form of the BMW club and the MG and Triumph Club making an appearance. The Best in Show was awarded to an MG Midget owned by Joan Jarrett.

In the arena, crowds mingled and participated in a variety of activities including spinning the wheel, filling the wellington boot and the lucky dip.

Those who were feeling energetic cast caution to the wind and tried their hand at line dancing, Latin style under the direction of Sue Knight.

The crafting, jewellery, art and photographic stalls provided something for everyone to browse around.

Barbara Weeks, Horseman’s Green Community Group Trustee, said: “The afternoon was a huge success and all credit must go to the main organisers. Grateful thanks also go to Lady Kenyon and the late Lord Kenyon for offering their wonderful venue. The afternoon was an indication of what can be achieved when local communities work together for the benefit of all.

“Thanks to all who turned out and supported the event – we trust you had an enjoyable and fun afternoon.

“Hopefully this will not be the last such event.”
