AN OPTICIANS in Wem is hosting a 'slumber party' next week with its sights on raising funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s Society.
Staff at Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care on High Street will dress up in pyjamas and onesies and have a cake sale on Tuesday, September 17 to mark World Alzheimer’s Day on September 21.
Scrivens is supporting Alzheimer’s Society for a fourth successive year and the Wem branch will also donate £1 for every hearing screening undertaken from September 16 to September 21.
Area manager Claire Connolly said: “It’s a cause we care about because dementia affects the lives of so many people in our community.
"There is a real need for continued research and support so any donations will be gratefully received.”
