FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue an animal from a ditch in Whitchurch on the weekend.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 5.32pm on Saturday with reports of a horse which had become stuck.
Four fire engines including the incident support unit and rescue tender were sent from Wellington and Whitchurch along with an operations officer and a vet.
The horse was released from the ditch using animal rescue equipment after nearly two hours.
