WEST Mercia Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Selattyn on Wednesday afternoon.

The two-vehicle road traffic collision (RTC) which happened just outside of Elsinore in Glyn Road, Selattyn near Oswestry, involved a 4x4 car and a motorbike.

In a statement issued on Thursday morning, West Mercia Police appealed for witnesses of the collision which has left a man from Oswestry with serious injuries.

"At around 2.30pm on Wednesday September, 4, a motorbike was in a collision with silver VW Amarok car on Glyn Road," the statement reads.

"The motorbike rider, a 17-year-old man from Oswestry suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital via air ambulance where he is currently receiving treatment.

"The road was closed for a short time while the emergency services attended the scene.

"Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision."
