CHARITY champions have been thanked for taking on a fun 4K run in aid of a Wrexham hospice.

The Nightingale House colour run took place on Sunday at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse.

Attendees were invited to tackle the challenege in any way they wished - running, walking or anything inbetween - while making their way through a blaze of colours.

Sam Amis, Nightingale House Fundraiser said: “Currently it costs £261,699 per month to run Nightingale House and the Colour Run is our second biggest event and an important revenue stream with every penny raised directly helping people who need specialist palliative care and support.

“We would like to thank all our fantastic runners and sponsors DTCC and Hoya for supporting this year’s event.

"It’s great to see so many businesses and families taking part in what is known as ‘the happiest 4,000 meters on the planet.

"When we plan our events calendar we try to create events that collectively appeal to people of all age groups and the Colour Run has been an important fixture for many years.”
