IT WAS an event to remember for the North Shropshire Wheelers as the club hit an important milestone in their most recent time trial.

The groups recent 25 mile event, held on Sunday, August 25, saw 12 riders from the club take to the road, in what was the Norths’ 50th running of the event.

The course started at Tern Hill heading towards Hodnet, turning onto the A442 through Waters Upton and onto Shawbirch before heading back.

At the ride headquarters at Wollerton Bowling Club Hall, the 83 riders who took part and were treated to a vast array of cakes at the end of the ride.

Of the Norths taking part, Richard Kay was quickest, finishing with a time of 56 minutes and 46 seconds, followed by James Neale with a 59:44 and Tim Rex with a 1:00:42.

Elaine Langley was the most improved rider, finishing the course in 1:17:58.
