ELLESMERE Festival was back for another year and revellers flooded the town despite the weather forecasting rain.
Visitors to the popular, annual festival were not put off by the occasional rain shower as they took part in the many activities going on around town, and browsed at the many stalls selling anything from canal ware to food and drink.
Mayor of Ellesmere, Councillor Paul Goulbourne was pleased to see such a good turnout and praised those who had been involved.
He said: “Despite the odd rain shower, people were not put off by the weather.
“The Market Hall was full of stalls and all the charity stalls stayed open all day by the canal.
“Fizzgigs had to cancel their performance on Saturday because it was rained off, but they did it on Sunday instead.
“There was lots to do over the three days – and there was something for everyone.
“It was a very successful weekend.”
The town was filled with paintings by local artists, flower displays, stalls raising money for various charities and the much-awaited performance of George and the Dragon by community arts group, Fizzgigs.
