A PUB in Ellesmere has come out on top in a regional ‘In Bloom’ competition for its colourful floral displays.
The Red Lion Coaching Inn has come first in the region for the second time, in a contest ran by the brewery Thwaites which owns 250 pubs nationwide.
The competition is to celebrate those who made their property stand out from the crowd and landlords Lois Lagoyianni and Simon Metcalfe are extremely happy with being chosen as the winners.
“Thank you to Thwaites for the award and to our amazing friend Graham Ludgate for applying a lot of love and care to creating such beautiful displays,” Simon said.
And Lois added: “Our friend Graham planted all the baskets – he is amazing at what he does. We have buddleia and lavender to encourage insects and bees and the herb garden where holiday makers are often seen helping themselves to take back to their boats which is great.”
