AN IMPORTANT resource in Whitchurch has celebrated five years of operation after being rescued from closure.
The Bradbury Centre, which is located next to Whitchurch Hospital and serves as a centre for vulnerable adults, was scheduled for closure in 2014.
But the service was saved when Mandy Silvester and Maggie Allen stepped in to run the enterprise as a charity.
Since then the centre has gone from strength to strength, helping 60 users.
“We had a little celebration afternoon with a beautiful cake and thanked the staff for their dedication over the five years,” said Mandy.
“I presented Karen Lipman and Sandra Spennetti with flowers as they have both been with us for the whole five years after working in the centre for the council too.
“I am extremely proud of how the centre has grown and feel very thankful that along with the staff we can provide such a valuable and much-needed service.”
