AN ARMY of tractor lovers descended on Hanmer last weekend to take part in the annual tractor run.

Last weekend saw the tractor run celebrate its 20th anniversary, with dozens of enthusiasts travelling through the countryside around Bronington and Hanmer.

The run was organised by the Bronington Friendship Group and serves as a way to raise money for group, as well as making friends along the way.

Drivers started at Mill Lane Tractors in Bronington, embarking in a tour of the area before arriving at the Hanmer Arms in the afternoon for a celebratory meal.

Funds were raised through drivers paying to take part as well as donations received on the day.

Speaking after the event, organiser Mark Watson credited all those that helped make the event a success and revealed that for this year the group raised £460.

"It was a good day out," said Mark. "We had 31 tractors involved and it all went fine.

"The money raised will go to the Bronington Friendship Group to held fund their Christmas party."

Meanwhile a spokesperson for the Hanmer Arms said: "An excellent day and many amazing vehicles on display.

"Well done to everyone involved and thank you to Mark and the organisers for organising such a great event in aid of such a brilliant cause."
