A RUNNING group from Whitchurch has raised money for charity by tackling the three peaks challenge.
The Whitchurch Whippets have raised £1,692 for Severn Hospice after climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden back in June.
Dean Richards, who planned and led the challenge said: "What started as a little chat on a club night out turned into 15 clubmates tackling the national the peaks challenge of climbing Ben Nevis, scafell Pike and Snowdon – the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales.
"In the lead up to the challenge we discussed raising money for charity and decided to support the Severn Hospice as they cared for one of our friends mum as she battled cancer.
"During the challenge we were blessed with fantastic weather for each of the mountains and all survived with a few aches to tell the tales"
