REPAIR works at Bradley Bridge will begin this weekend.
The bridge, situated on Old Malpas Road (B5395) between Whitchurch and Malpas will be closed for around 12 weeks while repairs are undertaken, beginning August 4.
The bridge was previously struck by a car causing considerable damage and the previous repairs to the bridge at the end of 2017 experienced problems with the specialist mortar required.
Cheshire West and Chester's deputy leader and cabinet member for Environment, Highways and Strategic Transport, councillor Karen Shore said: “The works will involve taking down sandstone block bridge parapets and rebuilding them.
"Both sides of the bridge will need scaffold for safe access.
“While we aim to keep disruption to a minimum we apologise for any inconvenience these works will cause to people who usually use this route.”
The road will be closed about one mile south east from the centre of Malpas. The bridge will be closed to all traffic including pedestrians and cyclists.
A signed diversion route will be in place via the A41 between Hampton Heath Roundabout and Grindley Brook.
