A HORSE has been rescued by firefighters from a damaged bridge near Malpas.
The incident happened at around 10am on Monday morning, on Malpas road between Malpas and Tilston.
The horse's back legs had fallen through the bridge causing the animal to be trapped.
The road was closed in both directions while the crews from Ellesmere Port, Lymm and Bollington liaised with a vet to work out the best course of action.
Crews then used a telehandler to rescue the horse, named Bubbles, and handed it over to the vet to be assessed.
