PETROL heads turned out in the numbers earlier this month to view some of the best classic cars around.
The Wem Vehicles of Interest is an annual car show and has been held in the town for the last 21 years, this year on July 21.
Held on Wem's Recreation Ground, the show brings together hundreds of car enthusiasts, either exhibiting their own vehicles, or admiring others rides.
It was not just cars on display though, with aeronautical visitors in the form of a helicopter from RAF Shawbury, as well as a flyby from a Second World War era Yakolev Yak 11.
Also available for visitors to the event were a number of food and craft stalls and a live music display.
The centrepiece for the day's event was undoubtedly the grand parade through Wem itself, with owners driving their cars through the town for all to see.
There were also prizes on the day, with the winner of the judges choice award winning the prestigious Castle Hotel Perpetual Challenge tankard.
