A SWIMMER who received her education at Ellesmere College has set a new lifetime best at the quarter-finals of the FINA World Championships in Korea.
Freya Anderson reached the personal milestone during the 200m freestyle event, finishing with a time of 1minute, 57.68seconds, knocking more than half a second of her previous best time of 1:58.19.
This result saw her finish second in her heat, propelling her into the semi-finals, which she qualifies ninth for.
Anderson was just 0.09 seconds behind eighth placed Bingjie Li from China, giving her a chance of reaching the final.
