RESIDENTS at an Oswestry-based care home were recently treated to a summer fun day with a familiar twist.
New Fairholm care home, in Shrewsbury Road, held their summer fete on July 6 and just for the residents, all of the the staff were dressed as iconic land girls.
Visitors to the site had a plethora of activities to take part in and enjoy, including a cake stall, barbecue, face painting, a tombola and of course ice cream.
Speaking during the event, Gill said: "We had a land girls theme this year as each year we do a theme that the residents will understand.
"It's something different and the residents can relate to it. It's been quite popular really!"
