A HIGHER Heath resident says he is "not getting any satisfaction" from Shropshire Council over the construction of a bus stop outside his house.

David Jackson, who lives with his wife in Heathwood Road in Higher Heath, is unhappy with the regular impacts to access to and from his house caused by busses and lorries stopping across his drive.

Mr Jackson also has secondary concerns for the lack of privacy created by the bus stop, with dozens of bus passengers being able to see through his windows.

Shropshire Council has previously said they are "assessing the situation", but Mr Jackson says he is yet to receive any follow up.

"When busses stop I can't get out. Shropshire Council is still not doing anything," said Mr Jackson.

"I'm not getting any satisfaction in getting through to the planning office."

Mr Jackson has also attempted to appeal to the builders, in an effort to showcase the issue.

"I've been across the road to speak to the builders and I've shown them into the house to show them the privacy issues," added Mr Jackson.

"The council haven't thought about it at all. I would invite every councillor to come to my house and tell me why the bus stop has been moved from the site where they stopped for 50 years."

At the time, Mark Wootton, Shropshire Council's highways area manager for north and central said that the council were looking into the issue.

"We are aware of the situation and are assessing the problem," said Mr Wootton.

"The provision of the bus stop follows the granting of planning permission, which included the widening of the highway carriageway at this point."
