A STRAWBERRY Tea took place in Hanmer on Saturday in aid of Nightingale House Hospice (NHH).
The fundraiser at St. Chad's Church was organised by Hanmer Support Group (HSG) and saw the hospice's voluntary choir group the 'Nightingales' entertain visitors with songs from the likes of Sister Act and the Sound of Music.
Ann Clarke, committee member for HSG, was pleased with the amount of people who turned up to support the event and thanked those who had helped organise it.
She said: "I am thrilled and delighted. I didn't expect to see so many people going by ticket sales, but we had people paying on the door.
"Committee members have made cakes and refreshments and there is a raffle to help raise money too.
"It's nice to be able to do something in Hanmer."
And Jane McGrath, head of Clinical Patients Services at NHH, who also sang in the choir, said: "It's fantastic to be able to support our supporters.
"We just want to say a thank you back to them for all the support they've given.
"Without our supporters we wouldn't be able to do all the work that we do."
