MEMBERS of the Wem branch of the Royal British Legion have raised more than £400 at their annual barbecue.
At the barbecue, the group raised £420 via donations, a raffle and a whisky auction.
The weather was fine and it proved to be an excellent social event with people bringing gifts for the raffle and auction, a wide selection of desserts to support what proved to be a successful event.
Branch president Ted Davies thanked all that attended for supporting the Legion and all the people who helped to make the afternoon a success.
Phil and Dee Moyse, who organised the event, thanked all those who helped with the preparation in putting up Gazebos.
Former navy chef Nigel ensured the burgers, kebabs and sausages were excellent with a variety of lovely tasteful salads and sweets that were prepared by legion members and neighbours.
