ST JOHN'S Methodist Church in Whitchurch has been selling odds and ends to raise money for a cause close to home.

Last Sunday the church held a jumble sale, offering visitors the chance to buy top brands, all while raising money for the church's Access for All project.

As part of the Access for All project, the church recently unveiled its new ramps and pathways, but further projects lie ahead.

As well as the jumble sale, money was also raised thanks to church steward

Volunteer at the church, Chris Crowther said: "We're very pleased, we raised £481 plus and there was a good turnout even with the rain.

"We had jumble sale, nearly new clothes and we also had a bric-a-brac and served tea and cake.

"Because we had a loan from the church to pay for the ramp, we're planning various events to raise money."

Owing to the popularity of the jumble sale, potential plans are also in the pipeline for thrift stores to be run, to use up remaining stock.
