It’s a bit of a mixed bag with this week’s Whitchurch Herald Camera Club.

Our members have been out and about in the sun capturing the area in all its glory.

New member, Geoff Handley, has sent in three images.

Geoff says: “I am a keen gardener and this is a photograph of a corner of my south facing garden in Whitchurch.”

Geoff’s images include a plant of Echium Webbii which is native to La Palma in the Canary Islands and is very rare and rarely grown in this country as it will only tolerate a few degrees of frost.

During the daytime the flowers are covered in bees while at night it attracts numerous moths.

He also sent in an image of an Astrantia, which he says is a good hardy perennial that seems to like dampish soil, plus a toad which was residing in his back garden.

Other images featured this week include one from Sophie Hughes taken of the sunset over the canal in Whitchurch, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Poppy Hall, and a coastal view from Lees Arts-Images, while Kate Long visited Llanymynech.
