ONE OF Whitchurch's most iconic traders will set up their stall at the market for the last time this week.

The town's Friday market is saying goodbye to Isabel Williams, who has been a stalwart trader for many years but will be retiring from her flower stall due to ill health.

The mayor of Whitchurch Councillor Bev Duffy, paid tribute to Mrs Williams, saying “Isabel has supported Whitchurch Market for over 20 years.

"She will be very much missed by traders, staff and customers alike. We wish Isobel the very best.”

Since the 1990s Isabel’s Flowers has been a stall on the Friday market, being the first stall many visitors see as they enter the market hall from the car park.

She has also supported all the traders and made representation on their behalf, especially when working with the Town Council to improve the market.
