AN OSWESTRY woman has thanked the army of volunteers that mobilised on Monday to help find her dog which had gone missing.

Indigo Roberts, who lives in Cabin Lane, went into a panic on Monday morning when her beloved long-haired chihuahua Zeus went missing.

She was eventually found later in the day after more than 50 people joined the search, including getting a drone into the air and using local dog walkers in co-ordinated searches to return Zeus to her owner.

Indigo admitted she was blown away by the support she received and admitted she was half-tempted to reconsider a move to Shrewsbury to live in the next few weeks, such was the support she received.

“Zeus went missing around 9.30am on Monday in Cabin Lane and it is fair to say that I was hysterical – it really was quite awful,” said Indigio, whose Instragram handle of @theoriginalmaddoglady shows off her love of dogs.

“She was eventually found off Wilfred Owen Avenue about 12 or 13 hours later by a woman who had seen my post on Facebook and she rang my number.

“She helped me look for her and then we found her.

“We had more than 50 people looking for her all across the day and I just want to say thank you to everyone that came out and helped find her.

“We’re moving to Shrewsbury soon but I was saying to my family last night whether it’s the right thing to do because the community spirit shown here was brilliant.

“It was proper community spirit.

“In particular, I would like to thank Jez from the Oswestry Drone Club for his help and also to Paul Tuddhope, known as ‘Rotty’, because of the organising he did when I was in a bit of a panic.”
