CHILDREN from Whitchurch Federation schools have been showing off their talents in music and dance.

Last week the federation schools held their first ever talent show with a range of acts from singing to magic, tap dancing to gymnastics.

The winners were voted for in a public vote completed by students and parents.

Isabelle Davies and Evie Brassington were the winners for the infants, who tap danced in-sync with each other to win the hearts of the audience. The winner from the juniors, Grace Brassington, was a dancer who performed with elegance and poise.

Ellie Cooke, assistant headteacher at Whitchurch Junior Academy, said: "We are very proud of all or contestants who auditioned and those who made it to the final - it is a very nerve-racking experience performing in front of such a large audience.

"We look forward to repeating the event again next year."

Meanwhile on the evening of Thursday, June 13, talented musicians of The Whitchurch Federation came together to perform solo and group ensembles on brass, woodwind and string instruments. For some pupils it was their first time performing in front of a live audience.

Emma Davies, teacher for the federation, said: "Well done to all the children for all your hard work and dedication to continue your passion for music."
