PLANS have been presented to produce a guide for new residents to the Whitchurch area.
The booklet, known as the Whitchurch Way, will be around 32 pages and will be distributed around town to familiarise new families with aspects of Whitchurch.
A similar scheme is already in place in neighbouring Wem and has been for three years now.
Councillor Norma Raynes highlighted the Wem scheme, saying the booklets "run out before the end of the year."
Sharon Marriott, one of the organisers for the scheme, said: "We're working closely with secondary schools and we will get sponsorship from local businesses.
"We hope it'll be produced by September. The cost to produce will be £6,000 for the first year, going forward this will be less.
"The booklets will appear in estate agents, doctors and schools. They're free, and we will be looking for funding, but not from people who feature."
Ms Marriott added that they would seek out county wide or national schemes to fund the production.
