WEM Town Council will consider the construction of a new club house for Wem Tennis Club at this month's council meeting.

Councillors will discuss the proposal, which includes the provision of disabled access/facilities and the installation of two 10m high columns to accommodate two floodlights each at the meeting, to be held on Thursday, June 27 at 7pm in the Roden Suite at Edinburgh House.

Also up for discussion is a request from Wem Civic Society to promote Bowensfield Car Park for the Heritage weekend on September 14 and to run a park and ride service from the car park during the Spring Market on September 28.

Councillors will also move to agree to ringfence donations from 2018-19 mayor's charity fund. These donations relate to mental health support in the Town Council’s Unity Trust account.

Following this councillors will consider the future ownership of the Morgan Library following the closure of Mythstories Museum.

Also taking place at Thursday's meeting will be the appointment of councillors to vacant positions on the Finance and Corporate Governance, Amenities and Services and Events Liaison Group committees.

At the end of the meeting the public and press will be excluded while councillors discuss nominations for honorary townsman.
